Software Investment
In 2008 Solarsoft’s Packaging Systems Division entered into a contract with Smurfit Kappa Ireland for the delivery of their enterprise-level corrugated business software, Business VantagePoint. The software has been operational at two SKI’s speciality packaging plants in Galway and Arklow since August 2008, and was implemented at two additional corrugated plants in Dublin and Lurgan in November 2009. Solarsoft’s software replaces disparate systems and aging legacy software solutions which consisted of Carton AS400, Harvest, Salesnet, and others.
The Business VantagePoint software was chosen due to its ability to handle all business processes from estimate to cash. The software has enabled SKI to better run their operations by providing full traceability and audit trail of all inventory, and the ability to share product specifications, customer information and manufactured jobs across all their plants. The software also provides SKI with complete visibility into job costing and pricing details and options, and powerful Business Intelligence dashboards and reports. “Business VantagePoint will enable us to run our operations as efficiently as possible allowing us to focus on our mission of creating value to our customers,” stated Mr John O’Loughlin, CEO of SKI.
