Smurfit Kappa Drezdenko implements CPMS
After a project time of only three months, Smurfit Kappa has successfully implemented Witron’s Corrugated Packaging Management System (CPMS) at its Drezdenko plant in Poland. With the ‘go-live’ on 4th January, Smurfit Kappa Poland rolled out CPMS at its fourth plant, previous installations at Gdansk and the multiplant-solution in Pruszkow, Warsaw. “This challenging implementation of CPMS in such a short time-frame has been achieved thanks to highly motivated teams on both sides,” said Piotr Sylwestrzak, CFO at Smurfit Kappa Poland.
Smurfit Kappa decided to implement CPMS as an integrated system covering the whole supply chain, from sales through production scheduling and execution to logistics with transport planning and dispatch including wireless finished goods tracking. The integration and embedded algorithms enable Smurfit Kappa to optimise the total process, resulting in considerable efficiency improvements. Plant specific requirements such as order tracking in an‘outsource-to-supplier’ scenario have been fully covered with the CPMS standard solution. The system interfaces to SAP-Finance — and -MM completed the implementation and integrated the operational business into the group finance solution.
All CPMS modules have been delivered in native language without the need for additional developments. Today, CPMS is used in more than 130 plants in 20 different countries on four continents.
